Juma Lodge - 4 Days and 3 Nights

Day 1
|
|
Departure from your hotel in Manaus at 7:00 am. The trip
takes three hours via speed boat, van and speed boat
again. During your trip you may see pink freshwater
dolphins. You will also observe the
jungle - the giant water lily, the majestic
trees, the birds and the local communities. At Juma
Lodge a welcome drink prepared with exotic fruits
awaits you. Lunch, a combination of
international and Amazon cuisine is then served. In the
afternoon we will tour the igarapés (Amazonian creeks) and the igapós (flooded
forest) in motorized canoes. Return to the Juma Lodge.
At night, go out in a canoe to observe the night fauna
and meet alligators, frogs and birds. |

Day 2
|
|
Breakfast with typical fruits and regional food. Leave
for a jungle hike. All tours are led by a
guide with knowledge of the area. Return to
the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, we will go out
fishing and learn more about the species of
the Amazon (piranha, peacock bass). While enjoying the
sunset, return to Juma, observing the Capped Herons and
the Cormorant. Dinner will include the fish that
you caught earlier. |

Day 3
|
|
Early in the morning, we will leave for a sunrise
excursion. Breakfast. Visit a caboclos house (local
subsistence farmers) to learn more about their fascinating culture,
including the production of manioc flour.
Lunch at the Juma Lodge. Canoe excursion along streams
in the jungle with the possibility of hearing birds and
other wildlife. |

Day 4
|
|
Breakfast. Return to Manaus. On the way back, stop to
see the Meeting of the Waters, the spot where the muddy
waters of the Solimões River and the black waters of the
Negro River run side by side, without mixing, to form
the great Amazonas River. Arrive at 11:30 am at
the airport or at your hotel in Manaus. |

Accommodation
|
|
Apartments are equipped with fan, individual bathroom
and no hot water. |
Departure
|
|
Visitors are picked up early in the morning at their
hotel and then taken to the river boat to start the
tour. You will also see the Ceasa market. The regular
departure to the Juma Lodge is 7 am. |

described in the package, bilingual tour guide, and
transfer from Manaus/Juma lodge/Manaus. |
What to bring

Light clothing, bathing suits, sun hat, long sleeved
shirt, long pants and rain coat, hiking boots or tennis
shoes, sandals, insect repellent and sun screen, plastic
bags to protect your films and camera. |
