River Boat Tour - 3 Days and 2 Nights

Day 1

Leaving at 08:30 from the Floating Docks, we go down the Rio Negro to the famous “Meeting of the Waters”, the junction of the Negro and Solimões rivers, where freshwater dolphins can often be spotted. Afterwards, we boat to the Janauary Ecological Park to see giant floating water lilies, captive wild animals, and a wide variety of handcrafts. Around 12:00, the boat stops for lunch.
From Janauary Park we move further up the Rio Solimões to a Anavilhanas archipelago - with hundreds of islands this is one of the largest Archipelagos in the world. From there, we depart in canoes for piranha fishing. After fishing we will canoe to the igapos (flooded forest). Dinner. Right after dusk, we depart in canoes in search of alligators. The guide spots its eyes with a powerful torch and carefully approaches the alligator, grabbing it with his bare hands. After the explanation about this interesting reptile, the guide will let it go free again. We overnight on board in hammocks.

Day 2

We will wake up early in the morning to see the sun rise. Breakfast. After breakfast, the guide will take us to the jungle for 3 or 4 hours of walking with explanation of the medicinal properties of many plants as well as economically important tress like the rubber tree and Brazil Nut tree. Afterwards, we boat to the village of the Terra-Preta Indians - these natives speak Ningatu and many do not speak any Portuguese at all. Near the village, it's possible to see a manioc plantation as well as the Cabaclo’s house where the manioc flour is made. Have dinner and sleep on board (or overnight in the jungle - optional).

Day 3

Breakfast. We will have an exciting canoe trip in the lakes and igapos (flooded forest), after that swimming in the river or on a beach. Lunch on board. Return to Manaus with arrival at 17:30pm.
