Tucuna Cabana

4 Days and 3 Night Tour

Day 1

Departure from the hotel, in Manaus, in the morning to the Ceasa port to catch a speed boat to see the magnificent; "Meeting of the Waters"; the junction of the Solimões and Negro rivers to form the Amazon River. After seeing the meeting of the waters, the trip to Tucuna Cabana will continue by road until we arriwe at the town of Rio Preto da Eva where a speedboat is waiting to take us to the jungle lodge. The Tucuna cabana is located 36km away from Rio Preto with less than two hours to reach the lodge in the jungle. Lunch upon arrival at the lodge. In the afternoon the guide will take the visitors on a fishing trip to catch piranhas. Dinner. Overnight in the lodge.


Day 2

Early in the morning the guide will take the visitors for a sunrise tour. Breakfast. After breakfast visitors are going on a jungle trek where the guide will be giving some explanations about medicinal plants, jungle survival techniques, flora, fauna and at the end of the hike the group will stop to bathe in a waterfall. Return to the lodge for lunch. Afternoon visit to native Caboclos dwelling to see the typical way of life of the local people and how they have adapted to the jungle.Dinner. Night tour to experience the nocturnal environment and alligator spotting. Overnight in the lodge.


Day 3

Breakfast. This morning there will be another jungle trek with the guide again giving explanation about medicinal plants used by the local people in this area, survival techniques, flora, fauna and visit to a second waterfall in the jungle.Lunch and preparation for a long trip to Caimbe lake.


Departure from the Tucuna Cabana in the afternoon the group will head to a "bird sanctuary" in the Caimbe lake. In this beautiful area by the Amazon river, hundred of birds can be seeing "fighting" for a spot in the trees to sleep. This place is not well known by many travellers but the local people are happy to see people visiting their community. After two and half hours by speedboat we will arrive at the lake where we going to stay and sleep in local Caboclos dwelling, in hammock. There is a greate chance to see other animals along the way and enjoy this unique trip from Rio Preto to the mighty Amazon River. Mosquito net will be broght along because there are mosquitoes in this area and also reppelent is needed for protection. Long sleeved shirts and long pants are necessary too for this trip. This is the one kind of trip that you should try while in the Amazon.


Day 4

After having breakfast in a Caboclos home it is time to return and enjoy your trip back to Tucuna Cabana. Lunch and transfer back to Manaus.

Transfer from the airport to the hotel in downtown Manaus, transfer from the airport to the town of Rio Preto Eva by taxi, van, bus, or microonibus (for groups), bilingual guide, native guide, meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner), mineral water, and activities described in the packages.

What to Bring

Light clothing, long sleeved shirt, sandals, long pants and rain coat, insect repellent, plastic bags to protect your camera, and hiking boots or tennis shoes.
